Television would have us believe that a beautiful wedding is made of Swarovski Crystals and handmade Italian lace. A lot of fuss is made over the cake, the flowers, and the stemware.  Sometimes it’s hard to find the wedding underneath all the wedding planning.

Don’t get me wrong, there was no lack of planning at Mike and Helen’s ceremony. Every pink flowered detail was perfect. But, watching them say their vows, the way they looked at each other with such sincerity; we all knew that none of that mattered to them at all. Every guest was there to witness and celebrate that this couple, who have brought so much happiness to others, through their deep faith, could finally be happy together.

I don’t usually photograph weddings, but I somehow managed to shoot this one through my tears.
