It’s funny how she was the baby,
Until you brought him home,
And placed him in her waiting arms.
She smiled at him with a “big sister” smile.
And she suddenly grew bigger, just like the smile on her sweet little face.
She’s going to show him everything.
She’ll show him how to stack the blocks, and immediately knock them all back down in a fit of giggles.
She’ll show him much fun baths are, when she blows the bubbles from her tiny hands.
She’ll show him where mom hides the cookies- and maybe even share them.
But first, she’ll show him the most important thing she learned from you-
Right now, when she wraps her little arms around him
And he feels like he’s the most important thing in her world.
Watching her love him,
She seems bigger,
Just like your hearts.
